Don't get scammed! Join the Local Consumer Protection Resource Fair (aka “Scam Jam”) on September 22, 2012 in Los Angeles. This will be an interactive, clinical, consumer protection resource fair aimed at consumers generally, but servicemembers and veterans in particular. The goal is to help folks learn their consumer rights and get help if they need it. The first two hours will be focused on education & prevention and then the next few hours will be the clinical section where service members and veterans can actually bring their complaints, questions, inquiries etc. to real people on a “one-on one” basis for help/advice/guidance
During this event, you'll learn helpful hints and tips like the following:
Consumer Tip #1: Always get, read and understand a contract before you sign it - ask questions and get answers in advance!
Consumer Tip #2: If an offer sounds too good to be true, it is! Never rush into accepting a “must-sign- today-deal” - take your time to think it over!
Consumer Tip #3: Always get promises in writing! Remember - if it isn’t in writing, it doesn’t exist!
