More than 40 volunteers turned out for a smashing holiday party at Walter Reed.  And no one was left out ... Neiman Marcus generously donated cosmetics for the moms and wives of injured service members. A big chocolaty thanks to Connie's Bakery too!

Today Blue Star Families announced the release of a comprehensive report, “Unsung Heroes: Military Families after Ten Years of War.” The report, created by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), is a compilation of studies and statistics on the state of military families after ten years of war. IAVA's report strongly supports the findings from Blue Star Families' 2010 Military Family Lifestyle Survey, including recommendations impacting military spouse education and employment, military child education, the effects of the deployment cycle on military families, military family financial concerns, and health care.
