A Nationwide Call to Action: First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will launch a national initiative to support and honor America’s service members and their families on Tuesday, April 12^th at the White House. 

Suicide rates in the military continue to cause concern, and a new public service announcement being filmed this week by members of The Creative Coalition, aims to help service members, veterans and their families reach out for help. Utilizing the arts as a powerful vehicle to create public awareness, The Creative Coalition was asked to take on the project by Blue Star Families (BSF), Health Net and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).

The holidays can be difficult for military families.  We may be missing a loved one who is deployed and chances are we're living far from family and friends.  Luckily, Google is teaming up with Blue Star Families and Sesame Street to make communicating with your loved ones a little bit easier this year by providing a calling credit for international calls, exclusively for military families.

Trunk, who is actually physically attractive, has an ugly, little, hard heart. Or maybe she’s just stupid. But she writes well, so she couldn’t be that stupid ... So maybe she’s just ridiculously narrow-minded and pathetically ill-informed. I can’t decide which it is but, whatever the reason, this post on her blog pretty much affirms for me that a lot of people in our country aren’t worth our sacrifice.

On Wednesday, Blue Star Families joined with Service Nation to celebrate Veterans Day, write letters for BSF's Operation Appreciation, and pack hundreds of thank you care packages for the families of deployed service members.

Blue Star Families is thrilled to be part of Service Nation's Veteran's Day event.

Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will join ServiceNation on Veterans Day to launch Mission Servce: Forging a Continuum of Service.  Blue Star Families, Student Veterans of America and military and civilian leaders will celebrate service organizations and the strength they add to our nation.

The men, women and children of Blue Star Families extend their heartfelt sympathy to the soldiers and the families of Fort Hood during this difficult time. We trust that the love and care that military families truly feel for each other - particularly in times of tragedy - will find a path to shine through these dark days for our stalwart United States Army.
