So my husband has joined the National Guard. We just found out that in a nut shell he is coming home with no job, no nothing. He was under the impression that he would be able to find work with his unit as an Active Guard right away.

How do you explain war to a 3 year old?

My son, Hollis, will make pretty much anything (even his railroad track parts) into a sword and he pretends to shoot people all the time.  But at this age he really has no concept of death, aside from the demise of his cat.

It was such an honor to be sitting with all those who have served past and present. Brig General Maria Britt was our keynote speaker and she is the commanding General of the Georgia National Guard. She oversees 11,250 Guard soldiers. BG Britt said in her speech the term "Weekend Warrior" is dead, no longer is the guard just one weekend a month.
