How the daughter of one deployed soldier turned a Blue Star Museum visit into award-winning art!

You will need a tissue for this one ... Zachary, our Military Child Essay Contest Second Place Winner for grades 4-5, tells us about the lonely nights without his dad.  We have been at war for more than a decade and military children, like Zachary, are experiencing these emotional roller coasters all over the globe.  We are thankful for their service too.  Zachary - thank you!

Our First Place Winner for k - 1st graders is Trent and he is a big fan of sports.  He's also a huge fan of his daddy's and calls him his hero.  Thanks Trent and good luck when you make your upcoming move to Japan!

Despite the many moves and different schools that Joseph, our First Place Winner for grades 2-3, has endured, he still compliments his mom's cooking (wow, we should all be so lucky!) and says his dad will always be his hero.  Joesph, thank you for your post and we think you are a hero too.
