Although Fort Huachuca is the only military installation in the state without a post library, its schools and military dependents will have an opportunity to receive library-quality books when the Books on Bases literacy program comes to the Murr Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m.

Blue Star Families will bring the joy of reading to military children by donating new books to the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Libraries this Saturday. The program, Books on Bases, is a nationwide program presented by Blue Star Families with the goal of having a positive impact on children from military families through book donation.
My Name is Caitlin I am a military child and I was born at a Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Just outside Grand Forks Air force Base. I am Turning 11 in May this year; my dad has been in the United States Air force my whole life. His job is Security Forces He is a police Officer for the Military.
Today, April 1st, begins the Month of the Military Child. Throughout the month, BSF will be celebrating our littlest heroes with programs just for them. Kicking it off is an essay contest for military children with some exciting prizes, including a Barnes & Noble Nook!
It's been great to hear from the families that are connecting with this new technology and we've got 25 more free stories to give away! Perhaps the greatest surprise is to discover how much kids enjoy reading a 'be there bedtime story' too! We realize how challenging it may be for service members to access a webcam on a frequent basis, so we thought we would put some webcams into the hands of the kids at home where they can read to their parents who might be overseas.

Linda Hudson, the CEO of BAE Systems, personally donated copies of one of her favorite children's books, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst.
